at St Barnabas Library
Our artist in residence at St Barnabas Library was
"I'm thrilled and excited about being a part of bringing stories to life at St Barbabas Library. I've seen the magic that can happen when people discover their own creativity and can't wait to explore all the possibilities for creating imaginative worlds in St Barnabas Library."
Current activities at St Barnabas Library:
THE STORY CHAIR
An Interactive Children's Story Experience
The Storychair offered a multi-sensory experience of storytelling in the Library. Designed to give children who may not be read to at home an opportunity to listen to stories in an immersive environment and create a world that will enhance their imagination, they can climb inside a secret, underground, woodland world and find stories and surprises that will set their imagination alight.
Mister Tootles Storychair transports children to magical woodlands, snowy mountainsides, small islands in the middle of silver lakes or mystical libraries. Waiting to be found inside there are stories of magic, being lost and the triumph of an outsider with stories gifted from local, national and international authors including Michael Morpurgo, Chris Wormell and Colin Thompson.
The Story Chair was launched on Saturday 30 January 2016 during National Storytelling Week. If you are interested in becoming a community storyteller or have a story to gift or just want to find out more please contact Manya.
