Mellow Baku
Ideas Fund artist Mellow Baku is a multidisciplinary artist, specialising in music with over 15 years’ experience as a live performer. She draws on her cultural heritage and jazz improvisation, combining acoustic guitar and electro loops to produce soundscapes, songs and spoken word.
Mellow sees the workshop and the stage as spaces to share and explore and throughout her practice she is committed to open mindedness and tolerance. Over the years she has given her performance and support in solidarity with movements such as Love Music Hate Racism and City of Sanctuary.
Most recently with The Spark Mellow created Mmm Ahh Whoosh, an immersive, cross arts, multi-sensory gig for children aged 0-5. The show was commissioned and produced by The Spark, with support from Attenborough Arts Centre and Warwick Arts Centre and toured the UK including presentations at The Spark Festival and Imagine Festival at Southbank Centre.
