Hello Ash Field Creativity Councillor!

Information for the Takeover Day – Saturday 17^th May 2025

We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday and welcoming you to be part of the Spark volunteer team at the Takeover Day at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery.

There will be a variety of jobs and activities for you to do, including welcoming audiences, helping artists with arts activities and helping families to have a fantastic day!

On the day you will have a group leader who will show you where you need to be and move you around each activity – they will know what your schedule is and also make sure you have breaks.

• Date: Saturday 17^th May
• What Time: 10am – 1.00pm (although you are welcome to stay longer if you like)
• Venue: Leicester Museum and Gallery, 53 New Walk, Leicester

• Parking :  There is on-street parking on Princess Street West (Sat Nav directions to this street –  Princess Road West, LE1 6TR (via West Street). There is also on-street parking around the corner on Princess Street East and De Montfort Square (Sat Nav – LE1 7ER). This is free for all Blue Badge Holders.  If you would prefer a car park, the nearest car park is situated on East Street (use post code LE1 6NB for Sat Navs). This is a 5 minute walk.
• Arrival – when you arrive, please go to the welcome desk. You will be greeted there by the Spark team.
• What to bring with you – Please bring a packed lunch, water and snacks with you to have on your breaks. We will be storing coats and bags together in a large trolley which will be wheeled into the collection stores to keep them safe, but please keep valuables on you at all times.
• What to wear – We want you to be as comfortable as possible, so please be casual and comfy. We will give you a red spark t-shirt to wear while you are volunteering, so please wear a tight t-shirt or vest to go under this.
• Photography & Filming – There will be a photographer and film maker at the event. If you do not wish to be photographed, you can of course still take part.
