Free activities during the day
Drop-in during the day to make a sculpture from recycled materials, attend a live comedy gameshow, and take part in the ‘Gallery of Greatness’ – where you can make your own medal, trophy, or award to celebrate your creative skills.

We’ll also be joined by Jeddybear & Gary with ‘Chemistry of Chaos’. Nominated for ‘Best Kids Show’ at the Leicester Comedy Festival, Hull’s comedy duo are ready to unleash a scientific spectacle in this interactive show. Explore science like never before!

Joining in with the De Montfort University takeover is free – making it a great day out for the family. Drop-in at any time between 11.00 am and 3.00pm and stay as long as you like. Remember that, if you want to attend Jeddybear & Gary’s comedy show, these performances will take place at the set times displayed above.
Roads in the area can be busy, so we encourage you to join us using public transport if you can. There are a number of paid car parking options nearby, including on Newarke Street (LE1 5SN).

Children from Mayflower Primary and Mellor Community Primary have worked with artist Sam Redway to ‘takeover’ De Montfort University – and they’ve planned a brilliant day for you all! They will also be taking on key roles on the day itself – from hosting to assisting with activities. So come an experience a day of free creative activities for the whole family.
