This playful and informative CPD training, led by the Daryl Beeton, Artistic Associate of The Spark, will offer you an insight into the ‘Vital Spark way’ of working with artists whose lived experience is key to their creativity and our own development as a company.

In 2018 Vital Spark was born as a programme to address the lack of diversity in the Performance for Young Audiences (PYA) sector and 5 years later it has become a movement.
Through case studies, creative activities and discussions you’ll get an insight into the Vital Spark way of inclusive recruitment, building mutual relationships with artists, flexible approaches to commissioning and supporting artists from idea conception to production.
The training will provide the perfect opportunity to reflect on your practise and how you work with artists. By the end of the day you will have a tool kit of strategies and approaches to support artists to be bold, brave and ambitious.
