Music Champions Early Years Music Symposium

Join us to hear all about our Music Champions project exploring child-led early years music making with schools, nurseries and children’s centres from across Leicester and Leicestershire.
About this event
This event will bring together and share learning from the 2-year Music Champions project, aiming to support teachers, teaching assistants, early years practitioners, and artists to explore early years music across a range of settings.
This full day event will share an insight into the project – both the practice and the impact. There will be keynotes and case studies, as well as practical workshops providing lots of ideas and inspiration you can take back into your settings!
Speakers will include:-
- Dr Helen Lyndon, Centre for Early Childhood Research (CREC)
- Nicola Burke, Early Year Music Specialist
- Rhona Matheson, Starcatchers, Scotland’s Arts and Early Years Organisation.
Workshops and case studies will be delivered by some of the 20 musicians and early years practitioners who have been part of this exciting project exploring early years music in children’s centres, nurseries and schools in Leicester/shire.
It will also be an opportunity for participants to network ,connect, share ideas, and celebrate the power of music.
