Join Spark LIVE! at Leicester’s Riverside Festival

Sunday 8 June  12–4pm

DMU Gallery Space, De Montfort University, The Gateway, Leicester LE1 9BH

Dear Mega Boss

We’d love to see you our next event as part of the Riverside Festival.

We’re bringing Spark LIVE! to the heart of Leicester’s biggest free summer event – the Riverside Festival – and you’re invited to join us for an exciting afternoon of creativity, conversation and live performance.

Also – if you would like to volunteer with your parent and come and help on the day you’d be very welcome. Please just get in touch with the event lead Mita Pujara – mita@thesparkarts.co.uk.  Unfortunately we won’t have enough Spark staff available for the Mega Bosses to volunteer with the team on their own on the day as Hazel and Sam are both away.

Some information about the day:

Find us in the DMU Gallery space

2–3pm: Drop-in Family Workshops
Come and explore, create and play in our free drop-in workshops:

Visual art with Pasha Kincaid

Weaving and braiding with Saintly Amok

Sound and listening with Corey Mwamba

Open Play space for babies, toddlers and families

All activities are free and family-friendly. No booking needed – just come along.

3–4pm: Live Spoken Word Performance by “John the Poet”

Experience a special performance by John Bernard, rapper and Coventry’s Poet Laureate, created with families, artists, DMU students and Councillor Elaine Pantling, Assistant City Mayor. Together, they’ll explore what it means to speak up and be heard.

It’s all about sharing ideas, expressing yourself, and connecting through creativity.

Make a day of it!

The Riverside Festival is Leicester’s biggest free summer event. Enjoy live music, street food, funfair rides, arts and crafts, and family entertainment across Bede Park, Western Boulevard, and Castle Gardens.

We’d love to see you there,
The Spark Arts for Children Team
