Staff announcement

Following the trial of our Dynamic Recruitment process, we are excited to announce two new members of the team that will join us at The Spark Arts for Children this month.

Introduction

Tatiana Kidder and Hazel Townsend have been appointed as the new Operations & Finance Manager and Creative Producer: Learning. They bring with them a wealth of experience and we are very excited for them to join the team! Both Tatiana and Hazel will be based at the LCB depot in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. As an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, The Spark will continue to spark creativity and change with children and families.

Tatiana Kidder

Operations & Finance Manager, bringing with her a wide range of experience from her previous role, where she was integral in setting up processes and managing the finances of an international health & education charity. Working across all our programmes, projects and annual festival, Tatiana will manage the day to day operations. There are a few other things of course – from dynamically reviewing our systems and processes and working with the team to ensure we bring the best return on investment and continue bringing inclusive and quality art to children across Leicester.

I'm really excited to be a part of a team that brings such lovely, colourful and creative experiences to children across the city. Experiencing arts and culture is an education in itself. I'm a great believer that they stimulate empathy and comradery and provide an invaluable and insightful doorway to helping better understand oneself and our surrounding world.

Hazel Townend

Hazel Townend will take up the post of Creative Producer for Learning at the end of March. Working with education establishments across the Midlands, the role will enable the organisation to continue our Creativity Councils, Takeover activity and a number of new Co-Creation projects – as well as ensuring that the festival reaches children across the city with our unrivalled schools partnership programmes.

I am really looking forward to working with the Spark team - and children, teachers, and artists more directly - to create new and exciting work. I'm especially excited about supporting children's voices and agency and finding innovative ways to continue putting children at the heart of the organisation.
