The Spark Arts for Children is delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Reekie as Guest Director of the 2016 Spark Festival.

Tony has worked in the performing arts sector for twenty five years and for the past twenty three has dedicated himself to the development of performing arts for children and young people in Scotland, with an aim to ensuring that every child has access to the highest possible quality work on a regular basis. The Spark Arts for Children is delighted to launch The Rocket Club, a brand new supporters scheme that will enable the organisation to continue its work with those children in Leicester with limited access to arts and cultural activities and experiences. The charity is delighted that Leicestershire businessman Rick Moore has signed up to be the charity's first official supporter, and are now urging all people who love the Spark to support them for as little as £5 a month. The Spark Arts for Children is delighted to bring I Believe in Unicorns, by award-winning author Michael Morpurgo, to Leicester fresh from a successful run at London's Vaudeville Theatre. Part of the Imaginative Spaces project with Leicester Library Service, this is the first time The Spark has put on a Christmas show for young audiences. There will be two public shows at Southfields Library on 6 December at 2pm and The BRITE Centre on 13 December at 2pm. It will also play to a number of local primary schools during its' two-week run here. Read More »
