Alexandra Gogan
Alexandra Gogan is a Romanian writer based in Dublin with a background in theatre and the performing arts. Her journey in engaging with young audiences has spanned various roles, from her early days as a “Disney Princess impersonator” to her work as an actor in children’s plays and a workshop facilitator. She is also a co-founder of “Bibabo,” an independent theatre company dedicated to producing high-quality art experiences for kindergarten and primary school children.

In 2022, Alexandra collaborated with Super Paua as a writer and performer, contributing to the development of a multilingual audio story that explores Romani and Romanian heritage, touching on themes of grief, identity, and tradition, all while celebrating the cultural diversity found within Dublin’s public transportation system.
Throughout 2023, she dedicated her time to two distinct projects: “A Man, a Dog, and a Goose,” a picture book, and “Mister Tonohashi and The Missing Cat,” the inaugural story in “The Thomas Thorne Files” series. These works delve into the themes of escapism after loss, reconnection through fantasy, and the art of stretching the boundaries of wonder while making the seemingly unbelievable sound entirely plausible.
Here’s what Alexandra had to say about being a Vital Spark Relationship programme artist “I am as thrilled to be a part of the programme as mozzarella is to be on pizza! This is a great opportunity and I am anticipating a whole lotta learning, meaningful mingling with creatives and an expansion of horizons. My ultimate aspiration is to turn the micro into macro, take what I do at an individual level and make it a collective endeavor meant to shake things up and hopefully enact lasting, long-term change both culturally and socially. The Relationship Programme is an important step on the way to accomplishing these Pinky and the Brain plans of taking over the creative world. I look forward to all the scheming.”

We do this by supporting artists who are currently underrepresented in children’s arts and culture. We also work with partner organisations to create world-class opportunities for these artists and share best practice.
