General Manager

The Spark Arts for Children is looking for a General Manager to be part of our small dynamic team and creative children’s arts organisation.  

This is a great role for someone with a background in the arts and with company management experience and or very strong arts administration and events management skills and experience.   

The General Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, finances and HR and working closely with the Interim Director to support the development of the company in Leicester, regionally and nationally. They will ensure smooth operations, enable strong relationships with stakeholders and empower a creative community of practitioners, artists and partners with the support and resources they need to deliver high quality child-centred activities across multiple community settings and arts and cultural venues.

The Role

Working closely with the Interim Director, the General Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, company administration and financial management, HR, overseeing project and event management, and supporting the development of the organisation in Leicester, regionally and nationally.

The General Manager will act as Company Secretary, support governance activities and work closely with the team to enable child voice in the development of our company.  

The General Manager will provide the support, tools and resources required to enable the team to deliver.

This includes managing IT and improving systems, policy and procedures to ensure that the organisation operates effectively in partnership, efficiently within the resources available and flexibly in a busy and productive work environment.
