The Spark invite you to the Vital Spark Symposium, happening on Wednesday, 13th to Thursday, 14th March 2024. The symposium will be an unapologetic exploration of where the Performance for Young Audiences sector stands and where it needs to go to become truly relevant and inclusive. It’s a space for reflection, support, and action, bringing together artists, directors, programmers, venues, practitioners, and funders to learn and grow together.
Highlights include panel discussions on sector realities and courageous ambition, reflective workshops to inspire collective action, and case studies on practical partnerships and artistic allyship. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be part of the conversation and drive meaningful change in the PYA sector. Oh and one more thing… we’ve got some brilliant guest speakers lined up. Sign up to our Industry and artist opportunities newsletter and follow us on all the usual places to hear who’s coming first. We can’t wait to see you there.
We believe that all children should be able to experience arts and culture, and that they should be able to see themselves represented in these experiences. This is not yet the case for every child and we’re committed to changing that.
Our response is Vital Spark, and it's at the heart of everything we do. Vital Spark is about challenging and changing the lack of diversity in children’s arts and culture; it’s about diverse-led artistic decision making; it’s about not being afraid to stand up for what’s right.
We do this by supporting artists who are currently underrepresented in children’s arts and culture. We also work with partner organisations to create world-class opportunities for these artists and share best practice.
