Early Years
Our exciting early years shows, events and activities are perfect for children under five years old and their families. We want young children to have access to high quality, creative and playful encounters from the very beginning of their lives!
Featured activity
Small Wonders
Child-led, parent powered, and artist facilitated play and storytelling sessions for young children (ages 0-4) and their families. Taking place across five libraries and four children’s centres in Leicester, these exciting sessions empower children through the creative process.
Sessions enable their voices to be heard in both real and imagined worlds – and provide opportunities to play, explore, create, and move with our amazing Spark artists.
Music Champions
We believe everyone is musical and – at a key time in their development – we want young children to have access to high quality, musical, playful encounters.
In partnership with Leicestershire Music Hub and Leicester City Council Early Help team, this project supports early years practitioners and musicians to explore and play through sound and music in schools, children’s centres and nurseries.
Early Years CPD
We are keen to support early years practitioners, teachers and artists to develop their confidence, knowledge and skills in working with younger children. This includes the Leicester and Leicestershire Early Years Network which we run in partnership with Leicestershire Music Hub.
The difference we’ve made
We’re putting the finishing touches on our 2024/25 Impact Report, highlighting the difference our early years programmes have made to children, parents, and practitioners. Email learning@thesparkarts.co.uk if you’d like to see it.
